NSC 898G was purchased new in November 1968 from dealer James Bowen.
The purchase price was £3137.70 (£3137 and 14 shillings in ‘old
money’). It was resold to James Bowen on 10 August 1970 for
£1500.00.

1970 from dealer James Bowen. Costing £5161.50 (£5161 and 10
shillings) it was powered by a five cylinder Gardner engine. This
photograph was taken in April 1972. |

This Priestman GJS 843F was purchased on 25 March 1968.
The driver is Rab McMurdo, a local fitter. The Priestman was delivered
to Stornoway in kit form. Rab had to go to the manufacturer’s plant to
see how to assemble it! |
