Retirement Centre Donation |
| As a small token of thanks, the WITPG
donated £50.00 to the Retirement Centre, Bayhead, Stornoway, towards the
cost of its annual old folks dinner. The WITPG are very grateful to Mrs
Elliot and her staff for the use of the Retirement Centre. It is an
excellent venue for our winter social evenings. |

Robert Grieves |
As part of his job as a bus driver,
Robert Grieves is scheduled to be working for David Dean’s ‘Classic Tours’,
based at the Harris Hotel for one week in July. We have asked him to repeat
the superb slide show held in January.
This will be a welcome return for the
bus enthusiasts amongst us, and there were also a few interesting shots of
trucks to appease the lorry and van contingency. Everyone present on that
January night enjoyed it enormously. Details have yet to be finalised but
keep watching this space for updates. |

Saved from the gas torch |
The group have managed to save a rare
Bedford TL six Wheel tipper from the gas torch. The vehicle belonged to
Angus MacDonald (Furan), Plant Hire Contractor, Stornoway.
The lorry has been moved to Coll,
Back, for storage, though this is not ideal as it is kept outdoors. We would
much prefer to store it inside, where it could be restored. If you know of
anyone with extra storage space where this work could be carried out, let us
know. [for an update on this item see
